Zaab Annika

One of the so many things that I want to do in life is to take good pictures. My favorite subject is my li’l girl Sophia Cerise. I have countless photos of Sophia posted in Facebook.hehe….So My cousin Pjay asked me to do the pre-birthday funshot for her almost 1 year old lil Girl Zaab Annikka.I was excited when he asked me (at least somebody trusted me on this one.heheh)We did the photoshoot on a Monday afternoon. Every time Zaab comes and visits Sophia, she usually just cling to her dad or her mom but yesterday (Monday) Zaab was not in her usual mood. She was friendly and cheerful. She played with Sophia and did a few of her tricks like the flying kiss and kiss. LOL.I had fun during the shoot. Pjay and Luna (Zaab’s parents) were all out in making Zaab laugh and smile while I take some good shots of her. They just looked so funny.heheh…Making peekaboo’S, laughing with no reason at all just to make Zaab laugh, calling Zaab’s attention and smiling from ear to ear.hehe….All these to make Zaab laugh and smile. Well, kudos to Pjay and Luna. I manage to get a few shots of her either smiling or looking at the camera.

I took this photo while driving around with hubby and MG.
With so many things that happened in my life for the past 2 years, I learned that things will come in handy if you focus on the good ones and forget about the bad ones. Drop the drama, just Learn from it and just move on and move up.

The Day When Sophia Cerise turned 1: Behind The Scenes

Finally the day has come, our li’l Sophia turned 1 last Nov. 3, 2010. It was a great party. Everyone enjoyed and went home full-handed with candies and mini backpack.

Six months ago, I couldn’t wait for Sophia to turn 1 and so I did try to look for some great ideas for a 1st birthday bash. I was all over facebook, mommy forums and some blogs checking pictures. I also had my sisters helped me for the planning.

The Invite
Photobucket
First we had the invitation done. We asked my sissy’s BF Francis to layout the design for us. We just gave him the concept and how it will look like and voilà, he made a very beautiful layout of the invite. Oh by the way, the picture was from “The Picture Company” in Ayala. Too bad they wont give a soft copy so we had the prints scanned in a high resolution.

The printed invite with envelope and stamps. I printed the stamps and bought
a rubber stamp “Rush” and a red stamp pad.
Canopy and Balloons
I wanted to fill the venue with balloons and some ceiling deco with all the colorful drapes hanging. We had Party Details located at Parkmall do the Balloon deco but I opted not go for the ceiling works with them because it’s too expensive. I figured we can do it on our own but with the size of the venue, it was almost impossible. Well, it can be done but I will need a lot of people to help me and that’s not gonna be possible….And so, I thought why not make a canopy if we cant have the ceiling deco and so we did! We bought 50 meters combination of white and pink alpha gina (Im not sure with the spelling) from Chester.
I tried putting up the Canopy 2 days before Sophia’s birthday. I wanted to make sure it’s perfect. I used a 20 meter long white cloth and it was just so hard to put it together. I couldn’t cut it because it was just rented. So that’s how we decided to just buy a cloth.
A day before her birthday, I did another attempt. Thank God for our gurads and Kuya Oliver who were such a big help. I tied the drapes myself and climb the mobile stairs (dunno what it’s really called basta stairs hehe) and almost fell. We tied one piece of cloth to the center then down to the brace of the tent. We used safety pins to put the white and the pink cloth together. Then, I asked Kuya Willy, the electric guy (hehe) to put up some Japanese-looking-hanging-lamps in different sizes. You can find almost all sizes in White Gold and it’s really cheap! When the day ended, I was very happy with what I saw. We made a canopy! :)
The balloon deco was also very satisfactory. Though I find it quite expensive especially with the Balloon Arch but I was happy when I saw it. :)

There are some stores though that offers cheaper balloon deco than the ones we had. Ritz Flowers and Balloons have a very good deal with their balloon deco. They are located in SM just beside Nike. We bought our centerpieces with them. It’s a balloon bouquet and it cost a 100 pesos only but this one doesn’t come with a stand. So we bought a clay pot and covered it with a pink Japanese paper and it looked perfect!!! :)

The Party Favors

We bought some party favors for the big ones a month before Sophia’s Birthday. It was when we attended our Doctoral class while strolling in the streets of colon, we came across Treasure Island and found a cute Strawberry Shortcake Fridge Magnet. We bought 30 pcs. and asked for a discount but they never did. I even tried talking to the Owner but he never speaks English well.

We have mini backpack for the kids. Strawberry Shortcake for the girls and Cars for the boys. It was quite hard to find some nice mini backpack here in Cebu. I found a store in Colon but the ones they have has a very poor quality. I couldnt even looked at it. It looks so dirty. So I asked my friend Maricris who is alo into buy and sell business to buy for me since she now stays in Manila. After two weeks I got my package; Strawberry Shortcake and Cars mini backpack. It was nice and clean looking just what I have wanted for a mini backpack. :)

The Birthday Girl

A week before Sophia turned one, we taught her to clap her hands while singing the Happy Birthday Song and how to make a 1 sign when asked “How old are you Sophia?”. She sometimes do the sign and sometimes she doesnt. Unfortunately, right after the kids sang the Happy Birthday song during the party she just stared at them. heheh…and she did the 1 sign after some of the guest left. heheh

NOT YET DONE. :PBlog Ping
