Pink + Blue on a Saturday

My 3 year old who used to be so tiny and fragile is growing up so fast. She’s learned her ABC’s, some parts of a flower, traces her name with broken lines, the numbers 1-20 and loves to tell a story of any kind. On top of her academic milestone, she likes to dress up and loves to have her photo taken. Sometimes I couldn’t keep up with her energy and ended up getting blurry photos.

Here  are some photos I took of Pia this morning in her New Year’s Eve dress before heading for work. Since we don’t have any nanny for 5 months now (yes we survived a nannyless life!) she goes with me in the office almost everyday.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Lip Lovin': NARS Heatwave

This is my first attempt of posting a review on makeup. I have been wanting to do a review on my fave products but I always get caught up with my busy schedule and every time I try to make one, I usually ended up not liking my photos.

Like an LBD (Little Black Dress), a red liptsick is a must have. It’s just a matter of finding the perfect red lipstick that suits our skin tone. I used to to think way way back when all i know about makeup are foundation and cheek tint, that red lipsticks are for the fair skinned women. I’ve always wanted to wear a Red lipstick but never had the courage.LOL I never thought I could wear a red lipstick as bright as Heatwave but things have changed when I started to experiment on different shades of lipsticks. Last year, I was looking for a coral lipstick that is bright but does not make me a walking lips and Nars Heatwave is the answer to that!

NARS Heatwave is a semi-matte bright orange-red. It has an orange undertone which breathes life into the face!  I’ve tried some red hues but I’ve never fell in love with any of ‘em until I came across with NARS Heatwave. It looks great on my skin tone. I compliments well with an NC40, those with olive skin and all other skin tones. This lipstick will look good on every woman out there. Swear!:)

The Good

  • It’s the perfect orange based lipstick for all skin tone.
  • The color is so pigmented. Stunning!
  • It  does not dry out on my lips since this is a semi-matte lipstick. It does not look flaky after hours of application.
  • It glides on smoothy  but if you want to add moisture dab a lip balm first before applying.
  • I love the staying power  which can last for 5-6 hours with in between snacking and some coffee.
  • I love the smell.
  • It gives good coverage on pigmented lips.

 The Not-so-Good

  • Slight feathering after 5 hours.
  • It’s a bit pricey Php 1,300 (not very sure but it’s around that price). But personally I dont mind since it does its job well.

I’d wear this with a clean face; a liquid foundation or a BB cream, use Mac’s browset  and a concealer. And then I’m good to go! When I put on a bright red lipstick like this one, I don’t use any cheek tint or a blush anymore. Having a bright red lipstick on is already enough that can cause a heatwave! :) What I also love most about wearing a red lipstick is it can make your teeth white instantly.

I bought this early last year in Rustan’s Ayala Cebu but really didn’t use this very often. I started using this every weekend just recently.

Here’s a swatch of NARS Heatwave on the left side. The other one on the right is MAC Chili. So look and compare. Heatwave really is bright and I love it! :)

I couldn’t find any photo that I like so I don’t have any choice but to post these. :P

A brunette and blonde can perfectly pull off this colour!

After a lot of experimentation and trying on a lot of RED hues, I can finally say I found my Red Lipstick Soulmate.

What’s your red lipstick? :)

2012 | A Review in Instagram

2012 was such an amazing year for me and my family! It wasn’t perfect but it was a blessed year. My husband and I had been in rough roads last 2011 but God has proven to us again that His mercy and His blessings come in His own time. Sometimes we take things on our own hands and forget that His plans are bigger than ours. He always bless us more than what we have wanted for ourselves.

Here are some of my fave photos of 2012 from Instagram.

Summer escapade with my sisters, with Pia (my daughter), our husbands and the boyfie in Bantayan.

Meet Mr. Providence. We’ve been planning to get one 2 years ago and finally it has materialized last June 2012…and it’s all because of HIM.

Moved in to our own place. This photo was taken during our first day of stay.

Hong Kong-Macau Trip for hubby’s Parents and for our 3rd wedding anniversary. Our 2nd time to visit HK. Unfortunately my father-in-law was not able to join but we still had fun.

Joined the Milo Marathon, my first run for 2012.

20130108-163200.jpgPia started school this year. She’s in Casa 1 (Nursery 1). How time flies so fast.

Been crazy with arm candy. Got my first MK watch as a surprise gift for my birthday.

2 of my fave lipsticks: Nars Heat Wave and Chanel Rouge Allure Insolente 65. Love ‘em!

My beautiful parents inside out. I wouldn’t be what I am and where I am today without them.

A 12-12-12, 12:12nn surprise present from hubby.

Our very first Christmas Tree in our own place. I am a sucker of Christmas trees.

Thank you Lord for a great year. I pray for good health, love and more blessings for 2013!
